Workshop: Cutting to the Trace with Blockchain

Blockchain, a new emerging technology, was originally designed to authenticate and log bitcoin transactions. The core principle of Blockchain is that any service relying on trusted third parties can be built in a transparent, distributed, verified and secure manner on the Blockchain. Combining the security, trust and authentication attributes of the Blockchain with the needs and requirements of the pharmaceutical industry as it relates to “data sharing” with trusted partners and implementing the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), there could be a perfect combination in the works.
Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will better understand:
- What Blockchain is, in the application of traceability and supply chain security;
- How Blockchain would operate through the pharmaceutical supply chain;
- Why and how Blockchain offers a robust solution in complying with the DSCSA;
- How Blockchain amplifies traceability in combination with existing technologies to better audit and secure the supply chain; and,
- Some of the unresolved issues around Blockchain adoption
