Robert is a product leader with more than 15 years of experience on the software and IT side of healthcare and life sciences. Robert is currently the CEO of Health Linkages Inc., a company focused on solving the data provenance problem in the healthcare and life sciences industries. Health Linkages uses a combination of blockchain and big data technologies to allow organizations to trust, protect and share their data.

Robert has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from UCLA. His career includes positions Deloitte, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Affymetrix and Amersham Pharmacia Biotech. He has also worked with and consulted for many startups and larger companies.

Founder, Blockchain Healthcare Review

Brennan Bennett is the founder of Blockchain Healthcare Review, a publication covering blockchain technology innovation through the lens of health informatics. Brennan is a blockchain technical advisor in the healthcare sector and blockchain entrepreneur who has worked on developing proprietary concepts for both artificial intelligence and blockchain applications.

Most recently, Brennan has worked as a Data Analytics Consultant at Humana and was formerly a Strategy Consultant at Humana Pharmacy. Brennan is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Health Professions where he earned a M.S. in Biomedical Informatics and attended the University of Louisville where he obtained his B.A. in Psychology and English.

Brennan is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association, American Psychiatric Association and is an activate with Microsoft’s Cortana Intelligence Design Advisers panel.

Bob’s in-depth knowledge of and experience in the healthcare supply chain, including current standards and technologies, is unparalleled. His ability to harness this expertise to innovate around complex challenges has made him a trusted partner to industry in its ongoing efforts to implement track & trace, serialization and regulations.

As he has done for over 20 years, Mr. Celeste launched the Center for Supply Chain Studies (the Center) to continue his implementation of strategic simulation processes to address the ever-growing challenges and demands that face all stakeholders in the supply chain.

With the recent launch of the Center’s first ReferenceModel-based Studies that examine the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) as it relates to a variety of subjects including master data management, blockchain technology and others, Bob continues to lead the way in industry exploration and education.

Prior to founding the Center, Mr. Celeste was Senior Director at GS1 US where he worked with industry on standards-based, item-level traceability and was the lead in developing the pharma supply chain simulation model for DSCSA, as well as the comprehensive guideline for how to apply EPCIS for DSCSA requirements. With a long history of working with State and Federal regulators, he also is currently working with the FDA on its Pilot Program to explore and evaluate ways to enhance the safety and security of the pharmaceutical supply chain.

 

Alan CohnAlan Cohn

Alan Cohn is Of Counsel at Steptoe & Johnson LLP, co-chair of the firm’s Blockchain and Digital Currency practice, and counsel to the Blockchain Alliance, a public-private forum for blockchain companies to engage with law enforcement and regulatory agencies. Alan counsels companies on cybersecurity, blockchain and distributed ledger technology, and national security issues. He previously served in senior policy and management positions at the US Department of Homeland Security for almost a decade, most recently as the Assistant Secretary for Strategy, Planning, Analysis & Risk and second-in-charge overall of the DHS Office of Policy. Alan serves as an advisor to several blockchain companies, including companies focused on blockchain transaction analysis, identity validation, enterprise blockchain applications, and device authentication for the Internet of Things.

Ken Cottrill is co-founder of Chain Business Insights and Research Principal. Ken has deep industry knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and international trade. He has worked as a writer, editor, and communications leader with many organizations in Europe and the U.S. including the Economist Intelligence Unit, The Guardian, Harvard Business School Publishing and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and co-founded several publishing ventures. Ken gained experience as a logistics practitioner in the ocean shipping industry.

 

Eric GarvinEric Garvin

Mr. Garvin has more than twenty years of project management experience in the Life Sciences industry. His expertise includes:

Mr. Garvin began consulting in 1994 focused on the project management needs of the Life Science industry. He founded Global Technical Partners (GTP) in 1997 with a mission to provide industry-best project management services to Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Medical Device companies. And although GTP was not formed to be solely an IT services company, many of GTP’s biggest successes have had an IT component. Eric has managed project teams of more than 500 members with project budgets in excess of $100M USD.

Mr. Garvin has spent the last 4 years leading serialization implementation programs, both for the US and globally. His management savvy and technical understanding has resulted in early delivery of serialized products to market and enabled companies to realize business benefits of serialization.

In 2016 Mr. Garvin co-founded The LinkLab with Susanne Somerville, ex-VP of Supply Chain at Genentech. The LinkLab was formed from observing the Pharma industry’s efforts to establish electronic management of prescription medicines and seeing a need to do this better. With experience going back to 2008 in planning for California’s ePedigree law, The LinkLab principals have for the last four years focused on projects which support the packaging, distribution, and commercial requirements of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) and Europe’s Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD).

Mr. Garvin holds a BS from the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Dawn Jutla is Chief Executive Officer of Peer Ledger, a Blockchain company targeting primarily Pharma, Healthcare, Precious Metals and Industrial Minerals, and other highly-regulated sectors. Her other hat is as the Scotiabank Professor of Technology Entrepreneurship & Innovation program at Saint Mary’s University. Dawn received her Master and PhD degrees in Computer Science on the topics of distributed systems and access control protocols from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. She has expertise in designing blockchain applications, privacy and security, and business and technology strategy and management. Her company has implemented a Blockchain Identity Translation (BIT) platform and SDKs for system administrators and developers to manage user identities, strong multi-factor authentication, unification, delegation, consent directives, and portable identities to increase corporate trust on Blockchains. Dawn currently sits on the Board of Directors at the OASIS Open international standards organization, and on the Board of the IWK Health Centre.

Dave MahlumDave Mahlum

Dave Mahlum moved to Southern California by way of Seattle, WA and has enjoyed every ray of sunshine since moving to Amgen six years ago from Microsoft. Dave’s background is in product software development and in designing, developing, and running massively scaled infrastructure systems. Currently Dave is Director of New Innovation and Technology at Amgen where he spends his time having fun with his team while leading the research and early adoption of transformative services and technologies such as developing DevOps frameworks, integration into public clouds, supporting serverless computing, and currently spending quality time with blockchain technologies in clinical trials and in supply chain.

William Miller is President of Maximum Control Technologies (MaCT) which is a MILLER W J & ASSOCIATES Company with offices in the United States and Canada,. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications with 40 years of experience in the systems integration and design of numerous process control systems for power, pulp & paper, chemical, and cement industries. He is a noted speaker on cyber security, wireless systems in industrial plants, Smart Grid, and the Internet of Things. He is a participant in a number of security and wireless standardization efforts including Instrument Society of America (ISA) Wireless Systems for Automation and was a founding member of the Process Control Security Requirements Forum (PCSRF) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He has also contributed to security standardization for the US government including the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) guidelines, review of NERC reliability and security requirements versus NIST SP800-53, and recommendations for security of wireless systems in NIST SP800-82 Guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security that formed ISA99 Industrial Automation and Control System Security. Samuel K. Moore is the senior editor at IEEE Spectrum in charge of news coverage in the magazine and on the website. He began at Spectrum in 2000 and has written about a range of topics including strange semiconductors, stimulators for psychiatric treatment, and the robotization of biotechnology. He now guides the publication’s news operation and shared a Neal Award for Spectrum’s coverage of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. An IEEE member, he has a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Brown University and a master’s degree in journalism from New York University.

Krishna is responsible for the architecture and technical roadmap for industry specific blockchain solutions. We built the first enterprise blockchain solution to go into production in 2016 and now partnering with a number of clients from financial, transportation, retail and other industries. He has deep expertise in stochastic analysis to derive insights from large, heterogeneous and noisy data sets. Krishna is a two-time winner of IBM’s top technical award for breakthrough technical innovation in applying predictive analytics and stochastic planning algorithms to client problems. Krishna has a PhD in Electrical Engineering, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has a specialization in signal processing and statistical optimization. Has portfolio includes an outstanding thesis award, 40+ patents, 60+ publications, and multiple best paper awards in the areas of signal processing and operations research.
